How To Use The Summons In Final Fantasy XV (1)
One of Final Fantasy’s most iconic elements makes a return in Final Fantasy XV albeit somewhat more complicated than previous games. This guide will teach you How To Use The Summons In Final Fantasy XV as the exact nature of each summons summoning requirements are not made clear during the course of the game.

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]The summons are locked until you progress through parts of the main story campaign and encounter them during your travels. Once you unlock a specific summon you’re given an item, this is what allows you to summon them in battle. Outside of a few scripted encounters you can actually use the summons while encountering side quest enemies, boss battles or other encounters in the open world. Below is a list of the summons we’ve unlocked so far and how you are able to summon them. It’s worth noting that meeting the requirements for each does not guarantee it will appear in a specific fight and none of them seem to summon when fighting in small areas.

How To Summon Titan
Titan is the first summon you unlock in Final Fantasy XV. His summoning condition is knocked out party members. When a party member is knocked out, there’s a small chance for Titan to appear. If you see the summon icon pop up be sure to hold L2/LT until they appear.

How To Summon Ramuh
The second summon you unlock in Final Fantasy XV is Ramuh. He’s one of the most common summoned as his requirement is battle length. As fights last longer Ramuh has a higher chance to appear. If you see the summon icon pop up be sure to hold L2/LT until they appear.

How To Summon Leviathan
Leviathan can only be summoned if you meet his requirements near a body of water. If you see the summon icon pop up be sure to hold L2/LT until they appear.

  1. I keep seeing this about Ramuh being tied to battle length but I’ve had him appear literally seconds into a battle. I think the length thing is wrong. Outside of the original scripted appearance, every time he’s appeared it’s been raining.

So that’s my theory, he’s tied to weather and not battle length. It would make more sense considering he’s a lightning bearer.

      1. No theyre not quite at random. There r certain criteria for them to appear i.e. Being near water w leviathan.

        1. Actually, my game once glitched out and I was able to summon Leviathan in the just outside Hammerhead with no water in sight. Had a good laugh about that one xD

  2. So if you haven’t gotten past chapter 12 then do know there is one spoiler in this comment. Also take note these summons are random even at most times you meet the conditions.

Firstly is Titan you’ll have a higer chance at summoning him when everyone but Noctis is down, also you have to be in an open area.

Next is Ramuh, you can summon him when the battle takes too long (weather had nothing to do with it) Outside of a dungeon he’ll use judgment bolt. But when your inside of a dungeon he’ll throw his staff.

Third is Leviathan you must be near a large body of water (ocean duh) and Noctis must be down (not fully)

Fouth is Shiva to summon her Noctis health must he low

    (SPOLOER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Lastly is Bahamut to summon Bahamut is during the fight with Ifrit
