Have you heard of the Sirtfood Diet? It became popular when singer Adelle lost 100 pounds by juicing, eating right and exercising. It’s actually been called the Adelle Weight Loss Diet. In other words, she ate Sirtuin-rich foods and got skinny. Basically, you add Sirtfood green juice to your diet as well as Sirt-rich foods. Believe it or not, I had a really hard time finding the simplest most basic recipe for Sirtfood Green Juice – specifically a Sirtfood green juice you could make in the blender. Because, I have a juicer but it’s centrifugal which is not the best kind for juicing green leafy vegetables. And, that way I wouldn’t have to buy an expensive juicer, because of course the best Sirtfood Diet juicer isn’t the type I have.

It’s so interesting I decided to give it a whirl! When I started, I found that the books were very expensive. But, if you know where to look you can get them totally free. While looking up how the Sirtdiet works, I had a hard time finding consistent direction. For example, the list of the top Sirtfoods or Sirt Foods, or foods that contain Sirtuin, ranges anywhere from 20 to 28 (although the longer lists clearly just repeated some of the same foods!) Rather than get discouraged, I started taking notes from all the various places and grabbing all the books I could find on it. That led me to make this list of Free Sirtfood Diet Cookbooks to make this journey easier for you!

The Best Sirtfood Juicer: Centrifugal Juicers versus Masticating & Triturating

  1. Centrifugal juicers are the most commonly found. They work by grating fruits and vegetables into little pieces and spin around fast to separate juice from pulp. They’re less expensive, easier to clean and unfortunately not the best type for juicing leafy greens. Of course, leafy greens make up the largest part of the Sirtfood diet. Example: Breville Centrifugal Juicer
  2. Masticating or single-gear juicers have an auger that screws down on food to separate into juice and pulp. The masticating juicer will grind and crush fruits, vegetables and leafy greens to extract the juice. Masticating juicers are better than centrifugal juicers at leafy greens, and more affordable than triturating juicers. For most people, these are the best option for the Sirtfood diet.   3. Triturating or twin gear juicers are some of the best you can buy. However, they’re also the most expensive. They work like masticating juicers; however, the motor runs more slowly which allows the juicer to get the most high quality juice out of your food. Example: Tribest Triturating Juicer

In summary, juicers are an investment. However, if you plan to continue juicing as the Sirtfood diet recommends it may be well worth it to get one that saves time and works better. After all, leaving juice and nutrients in the food you’re paying for is a waste of money too!

An Alternative to Buying an Expensive Juicer on Sirtfood Diet

Since I’m always looking for a way to save money, I found a way to make Sirtfood Green Juice without having to buy an expensive juicer. It’s really simple too! I used my blender, added water, and strained the contents through cheesecloth that I got on Amazon for a few bucks! It was easy and the cheesecloth worked SO well. I dare to say even better than the most expensive juicer to get every last drop of juice. Of course, cheese cloth is also reusable. Here’s the cheesecloth I got. Compared to a $600 blender, I’d highly recommend at least starting with this option!
