Adam Brody and Kristen Bell on 'Nobody Wants This' Season 2 and Season 3 Hopes (2025)

The Imperfect Boyfriend: Unveiling Noah's Real Side

In the world of romantic comedies, perfection is often the norm, but the creators of 'Nobody Wants This' dared to challenge that notion. After two weeks of season two's release, the cast and crew gathered to discuss their bold decision to showcase Noah, played by Adam Brody, as an "imperfect boyfriend."

Creator Erin Foster revealed her intentions, stating, "Noah was a green flag in season one, but we wanted to explore the reality of relationships. It's important to show that perfection is not always realistic."

But here's where it gets controversial... Foster explained that Noah's perfection in season one didn't sit well with her. She wanted to portray a more authentic representation of relationships, where partners are not always flawless.

"It's about showing that Noah, while perfect for Joanne, might not have been perfect for his past partners. Relationships are complex, and we wanted to capture that complexity," she added.

The conversation also highlighted the show's decision to bring Arian Moayed, a former co-star of Justine Lupe, on board as her love interest. This move was credited to co-showrunner Jenni Konner, who thought outside the box.

And this is the part most people miss... The show's setting in Los Angeles was a result of Kristen Bell's involvement. Bell, who plays Joanne, wanted to work locally due to her children's schooling. This led to a unique opportunity to showcase the city's charm.

The group also gushed about Brody's wife, Leighton Meester, making a guest appearance in season two. Brody, excited about the future, shared his hopes for season three and his close bond with Timothy Simons, who plays his brother Sasha.

"I've always been a fan of Timothy's work, and our chemistry on set is incredible. I even had some ideas for season three, like having more scenes with him!"

Foster teased, "We said no to more scenes, but we listened to Adam's endorsement of Timothy. It's clear they have a special connection."

'Nobody Wants This' season two is now available on Netflix, offering a fresh take on romantic comedies and the complexities of love. So, what do you think? Should romantic comedies strive for more realism? Share your thoughts in the comments!
